Acceptable Use Policy — AI-Generated Content

Six prohibited content categories, content moderation, reporting, enforcement, and appeals for AI image and video tools.

Last updated: 2026-10-08

1. Scope and Responsibilities

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") forms part of the Terms of Service for Everygen AI. It applies to all users and to Image Studio, image generation and editing, Image to Video, Text to Video, Video Generation, and related creation tools.

The policy covers prompts, instructions, reference images, uploaded files, generated images and videos, edits, and content saved or shared through the platform. Private, unpublished, free, and paid use are all covered. Do not request, generate, upload, store, share, or help others create prohibited content. Obtain the rights and consent needed for your source material and intended use, and check outputs before downloading, publishing, or using them commercially.

2. Content Standards: Six Prohibited Categories

2.1 Pornography / NSFW

Sexually explicit images or videos, depicted sexual acts, fetish pornography, and nudity intended for sexual arousal are prohibited. Non-consensual intimate content and sexual exploitation are prohibited regardless of whether the material is real, edited, or AI-generated. The platform does not offer an adult-content exception or a mode that permits prohibited sexual content.

2.2 Violence / Gore

Do not generate graphic injury, mutilation, torture, dismemberment, extreme cruelty, or gruesome depictions of death. Content encouraging, glorifying, threatening, or instructing violence, terrorism, or extremist attacks is prohibited. Do not provide instructions that facilitate serious physical harm or weapons of mass destruction. An artistic, fictional, or purported educational label does not permit prohibited graphic or harmful material.

2.3 Hate Speech

Do not create content that attacks or dehumanizes people, incites hatred, or promotes discrimination or violence based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or other legally protected characteristics. Hateful propaganda, supremacist recruitment, and calls for genocide are prohibited.

2.4 Child-Unsafe Content / CSAM

We prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexualized depictions of anyone under 18, grooming, exploitation, trafficking, or content facilitating abuse of children. The prohibition covers real, synthetic, edited, fictional, and age-ambiguous depictions, including attempts to change a child's apparent age to create sexual material. Child exploitation is subject to zero tolerance and can result in immediate termination of access and reporting where legally required or permitted.

2.5 Deepfakes / Impersonation of Real People

Do not generate deepfake content or impersonate identifiable real people. Prohibited examples include fabricated endorsements or statements, identity fraud, false depictions of a person participating in an event, and non-consensual intimate images or videos. Public-figure status does not authorize impersonation. Do not present generated content as genuine footage, a real person's statement, or authentic evidence.

Ordinary authorized image editing must respect consent and privacy and must not become prohibited deepfake or impersonation content. Where an audience could reasonably mistake an allowed creation for real footage or photography, clearly disclose that it was generated or altered by AI.

2.6 Copyright / Trademark Infringement

Do not submit or generate content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights. This includes using protected images, footage, characters, logos, or branding without permission or another valid legal basis, creating counterfeit brand assets, or suggesting an affiliation or endorsement that does not exist. Access to an AI model does not itself give you rights to third-party material.

3. Other Prohibited Conduct

Illegal activity, fraud, scams, threats, harassment, doxxing, privacy violations, malware, and unauthorized access to systems or data are prohibited. Do not bypass filters, use coded or disguised prompts to evade a refusal, repeatedly retry blocked material, manipulate reference files to defeat detection, or open another account to evade a restriction. Do not facilitate prohibited conduct for another person.

A label such as "fiction", "research", "satire", or "private use" does not override these prohibitions. If you believe a compliant request was blocked in error, ask for review rather than attempting to bypass the decision.

4. Platform Content Moderation

Our review mechanism combines platform automated detection, AI-provider safety filtering, and human review:

  • Platform checks: We use automated safety checks in supported generation flows to assess requests before generation. Image-generation and editing prompts are subject to pre-generation checks. A blocked request does not proceed; a request needing further review or an unavailable safety check is stopped in these flows before credits are charged.
  • Provider filtering: AI providers apply their available safety controls to the requests, reference material, and outputs they process. Checks and coverage differ by model and feature. Provider refusal is treated as a safety decision; users must not reword or retry a request to evade it.
  • Human review: We review user reports, suspected violations, and requests to reconsider a safety refusal. Review may examine relevant prompts, reference files, outputs, task records, and account activity, limited to what is needed to assess the issue. Reported output is reviewed for compliance, and confirmed violating content under our control may be removed or its sharing access revoked.
  • Review outcome: Requests may remain blocked, content may be restricted, or account access may be limited under Section 6. A request stopped for further review is not a promise that it will later be approved or automatically enter a staffed queue; contact support to request human review.

Automated checks can miss violations or incorrectly block lawful content. Passing a check does not mean that an output is lawful or permitted, and not every output is reviewed by a person before delivery. You remain responsible for following this policy. Review-related information is handled under our Privacy Policy.

5. Reporting Violations and Rights Complaints

Anyone, including a person without an account, can report suspected violations by emailing support@everygenai.org with the subject "Content safety report". Signed-in users may also use Support Tickets. Use "Urgent child safety" or "Urgent threat" in the subject for those issues. These channels also accept impersonation, privacy, copyright, and trademark complaints.

Include:

  • The content or share URL, task ID, and relevant account information if known.
  • The suspected prohibited category, what happened, and why it violates this policy.
  • Supporting context, such as the prompt, time, or screenshots, where lawful and safe to provide.
  • An email where we can reply. For a rights complaint, identify the protected work or mark, your rights or authority to act for the rights holder, the allegedly infringing content, and any helpful ownership or authorization evidence.

Do not download, attach, or redistribute suspected CSAM. Provide the location or identifier and a description of the concern. If someone faces immediate danger, contact the relevant local emergency authority as well.

We acknowledge reports within 2 business days and aim to provide an initial decision within 7 business days after receiving sufficient information. Child-safety issues, credible imminent threats, and severe illegal content receive priority and may trigger protective action before the review is complete. If more information or a longer investigation is needed, we explain the reason and next expected update.

Our process is: receive the report, assess urgency, review relevant information, decide on action, enforce the decision, and notify the reporter and affected user where appropriate. We limit disclosure of reporter identity and report details to what is necessary for review or required by law. Do not knowingly submit false or malicious reports. Report outcomes may be limited by privacy or legal obligations.

6. Enforcement Actions

We consider severity, available evidence, intent, repeat behavior, and risk of harm. We may take one or more actions:

  • Refuse a generation request or stop its processing.
  • Send a warning and require prohibited material to be removed or the behavior to stop.
  • Remove content or disable sharing links within our control.
  • Restrict feature or model access.
  • Temporarily suspend access while investigating.
  • Permanently terminate access for serious or repeated violations.
  • Preserve relevant evidence and cooperate with competent authorities where required or permitted by law.

These are possible actions, not a mandatory sequence. Child exploitation, non-consensual intimate deepfakes, credible threats, terrorism, or other serious violations may result in immediate restriction or termination without warning. We normally notify affected users of the reason and scope, unless disclosure would harm safety, compromise an investigation, or breach a legal obligation.

We can control content and access on our platform; we cannot guarantee removal of copies downloaded or published elsewhere. Users must stop distributing violating content. Account enforcement does not automatically entitle a user to a refund or remove a refund required by law or the refund policy.

7. Appeals

If you believe a refusal, removal, restriction, or termination was mistaken, submit an appeal within 14 calendar days of receiving notice. Email support@everygenai.org with the subject "Content safety appeal", or use Support Tickets if your account remains accessible.

Include the decision or task ID, account email, why you believe it was incorrect, and relevant consent, licensing, or other evidence. We conduct a fresh human review of the decision and evidence, acknowledge the appeal within 2 business days, and aim to decide within 10 business days after receiving sufficient information. If additional investigation is necessary, we notify you of the revised timeline. We explain the outcome and restore access or content where appropriate and technically possible.

8. Updates and Contact

The date above identifies this version. We notify users of material changes through the service or email where appropriate. Continued use must comply with the applicable policy.
