How to Choose a Video Model: Veo, Seedance, Kling, Wan or Grok Imagine
A plain, fact-based guide to the video models on Everygen AI: credit costs, lengths and resolutions from our price list, plus what Google, ByteDance, Kuaishou, Alibaba and xAI say about each model.

Everygen AI offers video models from five families. They are Veo, Seedance, Kling, Wan and Grok Imagine. Each has its own price, length and set of features. So which one should you use?
This guide will not crown a winner. We have not run our own tests, and we won't make up scores. Instead, we give you two kinds of facts:
- Our own numbers. These are the credit costs, lengths and resolutions from our pricing page. They come straight from the rates our generator uses.
- What each maker says. We quote the official docs and launch posts from Google, ByteDance, Kuaishou, Alibaba and xAI. We link to every source.
With these facts, you can pick the model that fits your job and your budget.
How credits work on Everygen AI
First, a quick look at cost. Every clip uses credits. Our generator shows the exact cost before you send a job.
Cost depends on three things:
- The model. Each model has its own rate.
- The resolution. Higher resolution costs more for most models.
- The length. We scale credits by length and round up.
The numbers below are for the length each model is listed at on our price list. If you pick a different length, the cost changes in step with it. Our site caps one clip at 30 seconds.
If a job fails or the model provider turns it down, the credits for that run go back to your balance on their own.
The models and their costs
Here is every video model in our generator, with its listed length and credit cost at each resolution. A model not listed at a resolution does not offer it on our site.

What the makers say about each family
Now for the features. The points below come from each maker's own docs. They describe what the model can do in general. Not every feature may be exposed in our tool. What you can pick on Everygen AI is what the generator shows.
Veo
Google says Veo 3.1 builds on Veo 3. It says it has "stronger prompt adherence" and better sound and picture when turning images into videos. Google also says Veo 3.1 can make a full soundtrack from your text. That covers speech, sound effects and background noise.
For Veo 3.1 Lite, Google's developer docs list clips of 4, 6 or 8 seconds. They list 720p and 1080p output, and 16:9 or 9:16 frames.
Good to know: Veo is listed at 8 seconds on our site, which is longer than the others. That is one reason its per-clip cost is higher. If you want detailed camera control, Google's guide is a useful read.
Seedance
ByteDance launched Seedance 2.0 on 12 February 2026. It says the model makes audio and video together. It takes text, image, audio and video as input. It says you can mix up to 9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio clips. In the same post, ByteDance says Seedance 2.0 "still requires ongoing refinement in detail stability, hyper-realism, and dynamic vitality." It is good to see a maker be open about limits.
ByteDance launched Seedance 2.5 on 31 July 2026. It says it can make up to 30 seconds of video in one pass. It also says you can give it up to 30 images, 10 video clips and 10 audio clips as references. It says there is still room to improve "the physical plausibility of complex motions."
Good to know: Seedance has the widest spread of options on our site, from 3 credits (Seedance 1.5 Pro Fast at 720P) to 200 credits (Seedance 2.5 at 4K). The Mini, Turbo and Fast versions cost less than the full versions at the same resolution.
Kling
Kuaishou launched Kling 3.0 on 5 February 2026. It says the model can make clips up to 15 seconds with native audio. It says the audio works in many languages, dialects and accents.
Kuaishou's Kling 3.0 guide compares 3.0 with 2.6. It says both support text to video, image to video, start and end frames, and native audio. It says only 3.0 adds multi-shot clips, element binding for steady characters, and 15-second output.
Good to know: Kling 3.0 and Kling 2.6 are both mid-priced on our site. Kling 2.6 is the cheaper of the two. If you need one character to stay the same across shots, Kuaishou's guide points to 3.0.
Wan
Alibaba launched Wan 2.7 on 7 April 2026. It says the family has four models: text to video, image to video, reference to video and video editing. It says clips run from 2 to 15 seconds at 720p and 1080p.
Alibaba says Wan 3.0 became generally available on 24 August 2026. It says Wan 3.0 can make up to 30 seconds in one go. It says it also takes documents, such as PDF and PPT files, as references.
Good to know: Wan has the lowest-cost option in our generator. Wan 2.2 Ultra Fast is 2 credits for a 5-second clip at 480P. That makes it handy for cheap tests. Wan 2.7 is the only model on our site with a 2K option.
Grok Imagine
xAI's video docs say Grok Imagine 1.5 renders text to video and image to video at native 1080p. They say clips can run from 1 to 15 seconds. They say the original Grok Imagine video model goes up to 720p.
xAI also explains how text to video works on Grok Imagine 1.5. The model first makes a still image from your prompt. Then it animates that image. For image to video, xAI says your photo becomes the first frame. The output shape matches your photo.
Good to know: Grok Imagine is listed at 6 seconds on our site. The original Grok Imagine costs the same at 480P and 720P (10 credits), so 720P is the better pick if you use it.
How to choose: start with the job
Now let's turn the facts into choices. Start with what you need the clip for.
You want to test an idea fast and cheap
Pick a low-cost model at a low resolution. Check the framing and the motion. Then switch to a better model once the prompt works.
Low-cost options on our site include:
- Wan 2.2 Ultra Fast: 2 credits at 480P.
- Seedance 1.5 Pro Fast: 3 credits at 720P.
- Wan 3.0: 5 credits at 480P.
- Seedance 2.0 Mini: 8 credits at 480P.
Keep in mind that a cheap test shows you the idea, not the final look. A different model may handle the same prompt in its own way.
You need a short clip for social media
Most social clips are short and shown on phones. 720P or 1080P is usually enough. Many mid-priced models fit here, such as Kling 3.0, Kling 2.6, Wan 2.7, Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.0 Mini Turbo. Pick a tall frame (9:16) in the generator if the model supports it.
You need sound in the clip
Several makers say their models make audio. Google says this for Veo 3.1. Kuaishou says it for Kling 3.0. ByteDance says it for Seedance 2.0. xAI says it for Grok Imagine.
On Everygen AI, sound in clips is still in development. It is coming soon. For now, treat these as claims from the model makers about their own models, not as features of our tool.
You need the highest resolution
Some models offer 4K on our site. They are Veo 3.1, Veo 3.1 Fast, Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Mini, Seedance 2.0 Fast, Kling 3.0 and Wan 2.7. 4K costs a lot more than 1080P for each of them. So test at a lower resolution first.
You need a steady character across clips
Use Image to Video with the same start photo each time. Our image to video guide explains how to choose that photo. Kuaishou says Kling 3.0 adds element binding for this job. On Everygen AI, reference images for each model are still in development, so the same start photo is the method to use today.
You need a longer clip
Check the length options in the generator. Our site caps a single clip at 30 seconds. The longest clips cost the most, since we scale credits by length. ByteDance says Seedance 2.5 and Alibaba says Wan 3.0 can reach 30 seconds. What you can pick on our site depends on the model.
Some things that may surprise you
Look closely at the numbers and a few odd points stand out.
Same price, two resolutions. The original Grok Imagine costs 10 credits at both 480P and 720P.
Listed lengths differ. Veo is listed at 8 seconds, Grok Imagine at 6 and the rest at 5. When you compare costs, keep the length in mind. An 8-second clip at 30 credits is a different deal from a 5-second clip at 30 credits.
A simple workflow
Here is a way to work that saves credits:
- Write a clear prompt. Use our text to video prompt guide.
- Test cheap. Run it on a low-cost model at low resolution.
- Fix the prompt. Change one thing at a time until the shot works.
- Pick your final model. Choose one that fits your need for quality, speed or length.
- Run it once at full quality. Check the cost in the generator first.
If you need a start frame, make it with Text to Image. Or edit a photo with Image to Image. Then animate it in Image to Video.
What about plans and credits?
Credits come from credit packs or plans. Our pricing page shows each plan, its price and its credits. It also shows the full model rate table. Credit packs you buy on their own do not expire.
